ABOUT PENN COUNTRY HAMS
Penn Country Hams has been in business for over 60 years. It is a family business, started by Donald Penn, in 1959. Starting out curing only 50 hams, Donald used the traditional recipe that his family used to cure their own hams and sold them at the Penn's Store in Mannsville, Kentucky. By 1972, Penn's was curing over 4,000 hams a year. Today, we sell over 50,000 hams each year and cure hams year round. Penn's now supplies ham for the Kentucky Commodity Breakfast as well as all of the Kentucky State Parks and Lodges. We service over 400 stores and restaurants with hams each week. A "Best Taste Award," from the 1995 Kentucky State Fair and State Grand Champion Awards from the 1984, 1999 and 2019 Kentucky State Fair make up a just a few of the ribbons, plaques, and trophies that fill Penn Country Hams store. Penn's was even praised in the New York Times! Penn's has grown tremendously over the years. Along with Country Ham, we also sell many other products, such as jams, relishes, fish, biscuits, pinto beans, BBQ ribs & many other items, too numerous to mention.
